I use Seamonkey! It's the old Netscape Suite, now open-source and a Mozilla project. Simple, sweet, powerful, and fast:

@Batman: Sorry, StartMail doesn't count as an e-mail client. That's your provider. The e-mail client is something like Outlook (Microsoft), or Thunderbird (Mozilla), or Opera, Evolution (Gnome-Project), KMail (KDE-project), etc. It's installed software on your computer. And speaking of software, didjya get the Linux Mint USB key I sent you?

Thunderbird sucks, much too heavy like other Mozilla stuff.

Claws is light, but sucks too in term of quality.

kmail is far from perfect, but still much better than the others

You've to create something new, light and reliable, or find a new alternative to e-mails... Since mail protocols are bad too.

A kind of jabber + equivalent of "voicemail" storage for when the contact is not online. But with html formatting and attachments...

I was just gonna ask the same thing when I found your post. I'm also very interested in how satisfied users are with their setup.

I use Thunderbird because I require many of its advanced features but I swear about the user experience a lot. Geary seems to be doing many things right. But then it doesn't do all that much in the first place so that just makes sense. I wish Mozilla put some more of its resources towards Thunderbird development...

I also recommend: Emacs-GNUS or Emacs-notmuch . notmuch in general is awesome if your collection of local mail is big and you need to search for something. there are similar programs, like 'mu', but notmuch is good.

Those of you wishing that Mozilla would give some more love to Thunderbird should check Seamonkey out. It's getting plenty of attention from Mozilla.
