actually I did my first driving on a lorry, an Austrian Steyr 480. my father was an angry, loud and heavy instructor :D

Madhuri, the old Steyr trucks' gearbox wasn't synchronized, you had to find the right speed of the gearbox by double touching down the accelerator pedal, otherwise the gears did not find the right slot... I loved it; needed a good ear for the the rpm's of the diesel engine.
