I'm really curious what he was going for here. The painting's called "Archetypes", and this one too:

This second one is more clear: The “Archetypes” being Death, Purity, Monasticism, and Human Desire. But not simply in those words.

Oh that's interesting. Can you tell me where I can read more about these four, or archetypes as he's showing them in general? I'm a little bit aware of basic Jungian principles already.

I don't know that this is aligned with Jung.

Ah you just mean "archetypes" as in general elements of the human condition

Jung is not the only one who deals in archetypes, that's for sure.

I wish these works were not so "cartoonish". A little more realistic detail might have made them even more effective.
